Partner Clubs

Lake Gators is a USMS Swim Club for Adults (18 and over).  We partner with other clubs that focus on Triathlons, Youth Swimming and Youth Swim lessons.

Lake Gators partnered with the Clermont Triathlon Club (CTC) to provide swim training to their members.  The CTC is a non-profit organization and offers free group training sessions and lessons in all triathlon disciplines.   The Lake Gators coaches are all members of the CTC and we highly recommend this organization even if you never plan to compete in a triathlon but enjoy running, cycling or the social aspect of training.

CTC will make multisport activities accessible and affordable for the community so that individuals of all ages, abilities, and income levels can enhance personal health, elevate performance, and establish meaningful relationships.

MAIN OBJECTIVES
  1. Enhance Health: Our club will provide group training options that appeal to people of all ages and ability levels. We encourage healthier lifestyles in our community! With no monthly dues, people of all income levels can have access to a quality tri club.
  2. Elevate Performance: Our club will provide opportunities for those who want to see improvement. Clinics, guest speakers and race-day support are some of the ways we can help each other perform better.
  3. Establish Relationships: Our club will help facilitate the most rewarding aspect of this sport—creating lasting friendships, giving back to our community, and developing a sense of camaraderie.

South Lake Aquatic Club

Youth - Age Group Swimming Team and Lessons
If you are looking for swim lessons from infants to teenagers, we recommend South Lake Aquatic Club (SLAC).

SLAC also has an excellent age group swim team headed by Coach Don Gibb. Coach Gibb brings 35 years of collegiate and club coaching experience to the Lightning. He has served as the Head Coach at Florida StateUniversity, the University of South Carolina, and Daytona State College as well as assisting at the University of Florida, Florida State, and the University of Kentucky. Don was twice named Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Coach-of-the-Year while at FSU (1995, 1998) and led the ‘Noles to their only top ten NCAA finish in the school's history.

Domestically, his swimmers have won USA Swimming titles at Junior Nationals, Senior Nationals and at the U.S. Open. At the prep level, swimmers have been champions at NCAA Division 1, NJCAA, SEC, ACC, and at Florida High School State. On the international scene, Gibb has guided fourteen Olympians including an Olympic finalist at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He has also led swimmers to finals at the Pan Pacific Games, Pan American Games, World Championships and Commonwealth Games.

Gibb got his start as an age grouper at age 12 at Greater Pensacola Aquatic Club where he swam for Olympic Coach and current Texas A&M Women’s Head Coach, Steve Bultman. Don then went on to swim at the University of Florida under Olympic Coach, Randy Reese, where he became an SEC, NCAA, and U.S. Swimming champion during his time in Gainesville.

At Lake Gators Swim Club, we understand our times and locations may not work for everyone.  As a result, we recommend the Swim Out Masters Club for additional times and locations.

Swim Out trains at 3 locations:  Cady Way Pool in Winter Park, the National Training Center (NTC) in Clermont, and at the Rosen Aquatic and Fitness Center (RAFC) on International Drive
